As this
outstanding article from The Telegraph explains, Thorium is THE nuclear fuel for the future. It's cheap (there's lots of it and it's easily accessible), clean (has a very short half life) and safe (Thorium reactors can't melt down). Oh, and did I mention that it can actually burn Plutonium as part of the reaction process...? What are we waiting for?
