Crimson Dark

I've stumbled on to another great Web based Comic called: "Crimson Dark". Billed as a "SciFi Webcomic", It's a bit like "Firefly" meets "Babylon 5" (ah, yeah, that's a good thing) and is updated about once a week.

Free File Hosting at Fileden

I've found a free file host that appears to be (a) easy to use and (b) easy enough to download from. They go by the name of Fileden and provide free registration and pretty much hassle free uploads and downloads. An ideal way to link large and small files to your Blog.

BodPave grass pavers are an interlocking cellular paving grid system for grass and ground reinforcement applications where there is regular pedestrian or vehicle use. Ideal for lawns which cars frequently park on.

The Ashes Begin Tonight

The much anticipated (by me, at any rate) 2009 Ashes begin with the First Test at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales tonight. Heaps of controversy about the location with Ricky Ponting apparently somewhat perturbed about the pitch and calling foul. I mean, who's even heard of Sophia Gardens? The English and Wales Cricket Board pitch panel have and they found it to be sub-standard and concluded that it: "demonstrated excessive turn and should therefore be rated poor". Indeed.

The Teams wont be announced until just before the match but there's still much discussion about who'll be bowling for Australia now that Brett Lee has been ruled out due to torn muscle. I'm hoping it'll be Ben Hilfenhaus and Nathan Hauritz but I suspect Hilfenhaus will be nudged out by Stuart Clark. I think this would be a mistake as Clark hasn't bowled since last December and doesn't appear to have any form. Hilfenhaus, on the other hand, performed admirably in South Africa against the Proteas, has youth and a prodigious outswinger in his favour. Hauritz should be a shoe in as it appears the pitch will take spin (see above) but the selectors may prefer the part timers (North, Clarke and Katich).

At any rate, come 7:30 tonight I'll be sitting in front of SBS, wine in one hand, home made pizza in the other and anticipating some classic Ashes cricket. Yes, I know: tragic, just tragic.

Hysterical Billy Squire Video

I saw Billy Squire’s video on "Spicks and Specks" some time ago and it's hysterical. It probably ended up destroying his career, which, on reflection, may not have been such a bad thing. This is gold.

Electric Bike Goes on Sale in U.S.

Best Buy (one of the major U.S. retailers) has announced that it will be selling an electric motorbike as part of it's range of eco-friendly vehicles. The bike retails for about (AU)$15,000 and does 88 kph, has a 72 km range with a charge of three hours. Not exactly galvanising figures but it does point to the future of intra city transport.

BMI Debunked

For many years now I've avoided getting my Body Mass Index (BMI) determined ('Cause that would make me look fat). Looks like I've now got a valid scientific reason to continue this trend.
