From the National Library of Australia's archives comes this photo of the Blue Spec mine in Nullegine - Western Australia (1975). But wait, there's more:

  1. Hey - I worked there. The mine kinda closed down because it ran out of water. Or maybe, it was gunna close down anyway so they did'nt bother to stock the water tanks anymore (that costs money). Either way - I was glad it closed. Not the arsehole of the world - just 30 miles up it.

  2. Hello Da Lone Groover,
I also worked there in the treatment plant in 1976.
Your right the mine was a nasty place with cyanide and all the rest of it.
Do you remember that horrible little Argi German man who was a shift forman in the treatment plant who liked to make things unpleasent for his underlings.
I love the North West but i was glad to leave Blue Speck after six months stint. Regards Laurie

    1. Hi guys, I'm wondering if you can confirm the models of the cone and jaw crusher for me that was used at Blue Spec. They are just about to start it up again and there are no records. Cheers.
