Zoot "Just Zoot"

I've recently been given some old LP's and was delighted to find that several of them were really quite collectible.  I'll blog about the rest of them latter but the gem of the LP's is an original (and in good condition) copy of "Just Zoot" by Zoot (who at the time consisted of: Darryl Cotton, Rick SpringfieldBeeb Birtles and Roger Hicks).  Turns out, it's quite rare and, when available, attracts high prices.  There's one available on eBay now that they're asking about AU$500 for.

I can vaguely remember this group from my childhood but certainly remember Darryl Cotton, Rick SpringfieldBeeb Birtles from their various bands and solo excursions.

Death of the Inventor of First Wireless Remote Control

The Inventor of the first wireless television remote control, Eugene J. Polley, has died (he was 96).  The first-ever wireless TV remote control, called the "Flash-Matic,"  changed channels on a TV set using a photo-cell activating flashlight-like device. The Flash-Matic was temperamental, requiring precise angling to successfully work.

Read more about Polley here and read about the The First Wireless TV Remote Looked and Worked Like a Sci-Fi Ray Gun.

Titanic

This pretty well sums up my reaction to the re-release of "Titanic" in 3D.
